Dead birch behind the library
The message, as sent
Waiting to be taken.
Demo
Residents of an invented town ask its parks service, in their own words, to take a tree down. A felled tree cannot be put back. So a model only turns each message into a request with the words it came from, fixed checks in code decide, and one gateway books the crew, writing to its ledger before every call.
This is a simulation. No AI model runs on this page: every extraction is scripted, and the town, its trees, the messages, the crew system and the past cases are invented. Nothing is booked or sent anywhere, nothing you do leaves your browser or is kept, and reloading the page starts again.
Actions are running. The ledger can be written.

Take the cases in order. Each one shows the words the extraction took from the message, every check the rules walked, and what the gateway did. Try stopping all actions, or breaking the ledger, before a case the rules approve. To see the gateway run the rules for itself, stop all actions, take the first three cases, turn actions back on and send C-1 and C-3 again: the gateway books C-1 and refuses C-3 as a duplicate of it.

Before the rules go live, they run over 14 past requests whose right answer is already known. Two numbers come out and are never averaged: wrong actions, where a crew would have been sent and should not have been (the target is zero), and delayed removals, where the rules held a case back for a person, or refused it, and the tree came down in the end anyway (a cost, not a danger). Compare the current rules with a looser version that takes the resident’s word when the inspection is missing or disagrees.

R-1.
The resident says dead. Register: the latest inspection found it dead. Right answer: book the removal. Removed: the inspector had found it dead.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-2.
The resident says unsafe. Register: the latest inspection found it unsafe. Right answer: book the removal. Removed as unsafe.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-3.
The resident says neither dead nor unsafe. Register: protected, and the latest inspection found it sound. Right answer: never through this path. Protected: the tree board kept it.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-4.
The resident says neither dead nor unsafe. Register: the latest inspection found it sound. Right answer: a person decides. A person spoke to the resident; the tree stayed.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-5.
The resident says dead. Register: the latest inspection found it sound. Right answer: a person decides. Kept: the inspector had found it sound, only bare for the winter.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-6.
The resident says dead. Register: there is no inspection on record. Right answer: book the removal. Removed: an inspection the next day found it dead.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-7.
The resident says dead. Register: there is no inspection on record. Right answer: book the removal. Removed: an inspection found it dead.

The resident says unsafe. Register: there is no inspection on record. Right answer: book the removal. Removed: an inspection found it unsafe.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-9.
The resident says dead. Register: the latest inspection found it dead. Right answer: book the removal. Removed: a person matched the place to the dead pine T-209.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-10.
The resident says dead. Register: no such tree. Right answer: never through this path. No such tree: the number was typed wrong.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-11.
The resident says dead. Register: the latest inspection found it dead, and a removal is already booked. Right answer: never through this path. Already booked from an earlier request.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-12.
The resident says dead. Register: the latest inspection found it dead. Right answer: book the removal. Removed: the inspector had found it dead.

R-13.
The resident says unsafe. Register: the latest inspection found it unsafe. Right answer: book the removal. Removed as unsafe.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
R-14.
The resident says unsafe. Register: there is no inspection on record. Right answer: a person decides. Kept: an inspection found it sound, leaning as it always had.
The current rules: not replayed yet.The looser version: not replayed yet.
The gateway writes what it is about to do here before it calls the crew system, then the result. Entries are only ever added, never changed.
The facts the rules read. What a resident writes never changes them.
