Demo
Two portals where people serve themselves
Sign in as different people and see each one get their own view. In a networking circle, members pass referrals and ask for introductions while the organiser invites, records attendance and can see exactly what a member sees. In a staff portal, people check their leave and submit time against a mock HR system, and their supervisor approves it.
This is a simulation. The circle, the radio station, the people, the HR system and every figure are invented, and the sign-in is pretend. No email is sent and nothing reaches a real HR system: the mock one runs in this page. Nothing you do leaves your browser or is kept, and reloading the page starts again.
Part 1: a networking circle
Six invented members who pass each other work. You start signed in as Robin, the organiser. Pass a referral, invite a new member and accept as them, record who came to today’s meeting, then view the portal as a member and come back. Sign in as someone else to answer what was sent to them.
Pretend sign-in
No password here: picking a name stands in for signing in. Today is day 43 in the circle.

Nothing sent
What the portal would email, for the moments that matter. In the demo nothing is sent.
No email yet.
Part 2: a staff portal and a mock HR system
An invented radio station. The portal keeps no copy of the records: each figure it shows is asked of the mock HR system at that moment, and every exchange is listed. You start signed in as Poppy. Check the leave balance, submit the timesheet, then sign in as Reed, Poppy’s supervisor, to approve it or send it back. Switch the HR system off to see that nothing is lost.
Pretend sign-in
Today is day 13 at the station. Supervisors see only the timesheets of the people the HR record puts under them.

What the demo shows
- Each person gets their own view. Signing in as someone else changes the dashboard, the counts and what can be done. A referral or a request for an introduction reaches the member it was sent to, who answers it from their own dashboard.
- Workflows modelled as records. Referrals, introductions and attendance are kept as records with a status, so each member’s counts and yearly attendance are worked out from them. Attendance counts only the meetings held since a member joined.
- Invitation, then a profile. The organiser invites someone, the invitation goes by email, and the new member joins by accepting it and filling in a profile.
- View as a member, look only. The organiser can see the portal exactly as a member sees it, with a clear banner and a way back. In this demo that view is look only, so nothing is ever done in a member’s name.
- Live records, not copies. The staff portal asks the HR system for every figure it shows and lists each exchange. When the HR system does not answer, the portal says so, changes nothing and keeps what was typed.
- Approval that follows the supervisor structure. A timesheet goes to the supervisor named in the HR record, who approves it or sends it back with a reason; another supervisor never sees it.
- Rules in the page, for the demo. Every rule here, the sign-in included, is worked out in your browser so the demo can run on its own. The mock HR system stands in for a real one.
